Details about the 'Firmware Update Available' message in the 'Unresolved Issues' section of the app
What does it mean?
This message lets drivers know that there is a firmware update for their ELD. The firmware is the code that runs on the ELD.
Why is it bad?
Blue Ink Tech sometimes has to make changes to the ELD's code to, for example, stay compliant with FMCSA rules when the rules change, add new features, or to fix errors in the ELD's processing.
How do you fix it?
If your ELD has a USB memory stick connected to it, the app will try to update the ELD's firmware automatically. The easiest thing to do is to wait a day or two after first seeing this message to see if the app will update the firmware for you.
